Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties may include, but are not limited to…
• Load, unload and transport parts, materials and equipment
• Operate small hand and power tools
• Operate a variety of air tools
• Operate vehicles and equipment including bucket trucks, forklifts, etc.
• May occasionally operate heavy equipment
• Clean and maintain tools and mechanical equipment
• Perform a wide variety of routine to moderately complex plant maintenance operations, including building repairs, dry wall, carpentry woodworking, electrical work and plumbing.
• Perform minor maintenance on HVAC units
• Electrical: maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment such as replacing motors / motor brushes; replace motor starters, relays, timers, circuit breakers, etc.; overhaul motors, electric power tools; work with external vendors
with rewinding motors and repairs on power tools
• Perform semi-annual maintenance of the screw and barrel on extruders
• Annual maintenance of presses
• Install/repair or replace light fixtures, switches and outlets
• Repair minor roof leaks
• Perform minor building repairs and alterations
• Perform painting duties: sand caulk, prime and paint
• Maintain proper inventory of parts
• Catalog all mechanical and electrical spare parts
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Ability to work overtime if necessary

Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Possession of a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
• Five (5) years of assignment-related maintenance experience
• Repair and maintenance techniques and practices
• Safe work practices and policies
• Safe driving rules and practices
• Shop arithmetic
• Perform repair and maintenance activities
• Using hand and power tools in a safe and effective manner
• Understanding and following oral and written directions
• Working independently or in a team situation
• Communication and effective interaction with co-workers, managers, subordinates
• Knowledge of general construction and maintenance materials, procedures, and equipment
• Operation of heavy power-driven equipment, including, but not limited to trucks, loaders and various equipment used for maintenance and repair
